Laboratories

Laboratories rely on Medical Database for solutions that streamline diagnostic decision making (LDS®), optimize test ordering processes (CPOE), and enhance billing and reimbursement efficiency (LabAI). These innovative tools help reduce billing denials, improve reimbursement rates and compliance, and lower operational costs by minimizing working capital requirements. LDSRx, designed for antibiotic stewardship, is a specialized solution that analyzes infectious disease testing and antibiotic resistance genes, providing tailored recommendations for drugs and dosages to effectively treat infections

CPOE (Computerized Provider Order Entry)

service images

The test-ordering system, CPOE is specifically designed to integrate seamlessly with EMR, EHR and LIS systems, to help healthcare providers select and order the most appropriate lab tests using evidence-based guidelines and industry best practices.

CPOE is backed by our laboratory database, LDS®. LDS® uses our proprietary scoring system designed to rank testing recommendations based on clinical relevance, medical necessity, and testing indication. Each time an order is placed via the CPOE it automatically includes the appropriate CPT code, diagnostic ICD10 code and LCD/NDC to meet medical necessity for reimbursement.

  • Instant medical necessity checks

  • Improves reimbursement by decreasing denials

  • Cost reduction by reducing human capital

  • Improves Medicare and Insurance compliance

LDS® (Laboratory Decision System) app

service images

LDS® (Laboratory Decision System) is available as a web or smart phone app for providers using CPOE and serves as an instant content for all commercially available tests (over 2300 diagnostic tests), including genetic and proprietary tests. It delivers immediate bedside guidance for test selection and utilization, assisting healthcare providers, laboratorians, and students in choosing the most appropriate tests through our proprietary scoring system.

Tests can be searched based on symptoms, diseases, procedures or CPT codes, and ICD10 codes. Lab AI

service images

LabAI streamlines billing, reimbursement, and claim verification for laboratories. It automatically checks claims for medical necessity, recommends improvements as needed, and ensures compliance with Medicare LCD and NCD policies to optimize revenue. LabAI verifies submitted CPT and ICD-10 codes, ensuring they align with the test or procedure to meet medical necessity requirements for reimbursement. The system also cross-references Medicare and private payer policies to ensure claims are accurate and compliant.

Using its proprietary knowledge-based scoring system, LabAI recommends alternative lab tests, CPT, or ICD-10 codes to educate providers and enhance reimbursement while ensuring compliance. It produces comprehensive reports for labs, providers, and practices, detailing claim statuses, denial codes, and explanations, ultimately enhancing future denial prevention. LabAI integrates seamlessly via an HTTP API, supporting formats such as HL7 through Mirth Connect.
